Congratulations to Kayla Thompson, our 2012 Mathurin Scholarship recipient.  Kayla is an honor student at Dacula High school and plans to attend North Georgia College & State University in the fall of 2012, where she will study Early Childhood Education.  While focusing on her studies, Kayla has also participated in FCCLA, Art and Key Club, and has managed to volunteer with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, teach Vacation Bible School and log more than 300 hours at St. Mary's Nursing Home. WOW!  What a busy girl.  Kayla's references rave about her leadership and character and we are so honored to award her the 2012 Mathurin Scholarship. Good luck at North Georgia College!  We believe in you!
2013 Maturin Scholarship Recipient
Parkview HS Student, Nia Hampton, receives the 2013 Mathurin Scholarship. Nia has shown tremendous leadership and character as a tutor through Mu Alpha Theta, the Math Honor Society, and with her community service efforts with Special Olympics of GA.  Nia is also a dance instructor with the Parkview Dance Ensemble that she organized for students who otherwise would not be able to participate in dance.  As the Parkview Project Manager with the Student Alliance for Georgia’s Environment, Nia organized a recycling program at both her High School and Dance Studio. This is very impressive work while also participating in SADD (Students against Violence and Destructive Behavior) and FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America). Nia’s outstanding GPA has gained her acceptance into an array of fine Universities. She hopes to attend the University of Georgia in the fall of 2013. Congratulation Nia!
