Parkview HS Student, Nia Hampton, receives the 2013 Mathurin Scholarship. Nia has shown tremendous leadership and character as a tutor through Mu Alpha Theta, the Math Honor Society, and with her community service efforts with Special Olympics of GA. Nia is also a dance instructor with the Parkview Dance Ensemble that she organized for students who otherwise would not be able to participate in dance. As the Parkview Project Manager with the Student Alliance for Georgia’s Environment, Nia organized a recycling program at both her High School and Dance Studio. This is very impressive work while also participating in SADD (Students against Violence and Destructive Behavior) and FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America). Nia’s outstanding GPA has gained her acceptance into an array of fine Universities. She hopes to attend the University of Georgia in the fall of 2013. Congratulation Nia!
Savannah Rachel Bishop is a senior at Brookwood High School and plans to attend one of three colleges where she has been accepted; University of Missouri, Old Mis, and LSU. Wow, what an honor. Savannah has made a tremendous impact on her community as the Founder of Stampede Against Hunger, a food drive throughout her school and community that benefits the Gwinnett Co-operative Ministry as they assist families in need of food and basic living essentials. Savannah is waiting for her acceptance letter from UGA. I think she really wants to be a Bulldog. Savannah we support you where ever you choose to attend. Congratulations and Good Luck!
